Welcome to Symmetry Scramble!

Created by students from the Illinois Geometry Lab, this game will help you explore symmetry groups. Test your math skills and see how much you can explore this topic!

All you need to know for this game is what a reflection is and what a rotation is.

A reflection flips a shape over a line, like when you hold your hand up to a mirror!

A rotation turns a shape around a center.

In order to win, match your shape to the picture that the scrambler gives you.

Instructions

Come one come all and try to beat the Symmetry Scramble! I, the great Scrambler have scrambled all the shapes! Mwahahaha! To solve my challenge, make the shape match the target shape, shown in the lower right hand corner. There are different transformations: reflection buttons on the left and rotation buttons on the right. Pick a shape, and the number of buttons, and try to solve the puzzle in the least number of moves possible! I bet you won't be able to do it! Be careful, the more sides there are, and the fewer number of buttons, the harder the puzzle will be! Mwahahaha!
